Focusing on 2011

Looking at Jesus’ teachings in Matthew Chapter 6 I have been personally challenged to a deeper intimacy in 2011. (see my post of May 2010 for guidelines to prayer)

Jesus equates WORRY with a lack of FAITH. It is evident that when our faith is small we tend to forget about the power of Jesus and we worry about everything. This brings me to the conclusion that it is essential for me to grow closer and closer to Him — The closer I get to Him — the better I know Him and the more I will TRUST HIM.

Jesus tells us that “Your heavenly Father ALREADY knows all your needs, AND He will give you ALL you need from day to day.” Matt 6:33 says that if we make Jesus and His Kingdom our first priority in life, then HE will provide everything else we need to live a life of fulfilment.

The culture that we live in today tells us that WE and our DESIRES are more important than the teachings of Jesus. We need to take stock of the momentum stoppers in our life so that we can focus and listen to what God is saying.
As Paul wrote…. “For I live in eager expectation and hope that I will never do anything that causes me shame, but that I will always be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past, and that my life will always honour Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living is for Christ, and dying is even better.” Philippians 1:20-21. [MSG]
SO WHY WORRY? Just get closer to Jesus and live 2011 to the fullest!!
